Troubleshooting iPads and Meraki IOS Update
Note: If the device is no longer in Meraki (either in Devices or ADE sections), these steps will not work.
Remove the Device's Management in Meraki
- In the Meraki admin console locate the device in ADE. (Meraki > System Manager > Manage > ADE)
- Select the device and select Remove Settings. Confirm the operation.
- Locate the device in the Devices page.(Meraki > System Manager > Monitor > Devices)
- Select the device and Remove from Network. Confirm the operation.
Update iPad
- On the iPad erase all content. (Settings > General > Erase All Content). Confirm the operation.
- Setup the device without enrollment into Meraki. An Apple ID will be needed; credentials for J&J's Apple ID can be found in Secret Server (Apple ID Account).
- Update the IOS software. The device may have to be connect to iTunes. If connected to iTunes, the iTunes account should be registered to the same account that was used to setup the iPad.
- After updating, erase all content.
Use these steps to set up a new iPad to complete the process.
