Users’ Guide
(Display RC6 / Server RC13)
Connecting to the Jackpot Board Wi-Fi:
When the Jackpot Board starts up, it will create a Wi-Fi hotspot. You can connect to it with any Wi-Fi enabled device such as a laptop computer or a smartphone. Once connected, you can enter jackpots, adjust the sign colors, upload graphics, etc.
To connect your device to the Jackpot Board, look for a Wi-Fi hotspot named
“JackpotBoard####” (Where #### is your location number). The hotspot is password protected. You will be provided with the password at the time your sign is installed. You may want to write the password down and store it somewhere which is easy to access.
Using a web browser to access the Jackpot Board Control Program:
When you have successfully connected to the Jackpot Board’s Wi-Fi hotspot, start a web browser on your device. Chrome and Dolphin browsers are both known to work with the Jackpot Board; others may work as well.
The URL for the Sign Manager is:
http://192.168.63.1:63180
When you access the Jackpot Board control program, you will be prompted for a user name and password. These will also be provided to you when your sign in installed. You may want to write these down as well, and store them along with the Wi-Fi password.
Sign Manager Operation:
The home page serves mainly as a menu to access the other features of the program. If you are using a smartphone or other device with a narrow screen, you will need to click on the hamburger”
to display the menu.
[System Configuration]:
The system configuration is set when the Jackpot Board is installed, and cannot be changed after. It is available here as a display-only item to assist in trouble-shooting if it ever becomes necessary.
You may, however, use the System Configuration screen to set the system date and time.
[Publish to Sign]:
IMPORTANT – Any changes you make to the Jackpot Board will not take effect until you click on “[Publish to Sign]”.
[Jackpots]:
To add a new jackpot on the board, enter the game number, date and amount in the boxes at the top of the list. Then click the Create button. The new jackpot will be inserted into the list in the correct spot. The list is sorted in reverse date order.
The list can hold a maximum of thirty jackpots. Once it reaches that limit, each new jackpot entered will cause the oldest jackpot to drop off the list. Remember to click on “[Publish to Sign]” when you are ready for the changes to be displayed.
Fixing a Mistake:
If you accidentally make a mistake when entering the jackpot, you can remove that entry by finding it in the list and clicking the Delete button next to it. This will bring up a confirmation screen.
When the “Delete Jackpot?” confirmation is displayed, click on Delete to remove the jackpot or on Cancel to leave the jackpot in place. Remember to click on “[Publish to Sign]” when you are ready for the changes to be displayed.
[Colors]:
You can use the color selector to set background and text colors for the jackpot Board. Odd and even numbered lines may be set separately, so you can create a striped effect for better visual impact. If you don’t like any of the standard colors, select “Custom” color and click on the sample box to its right. This will open up an expanded color selection tool.
When you are done, click the Save Changes button.
Remember to click on “[Publish to Sign]” when you are ready for the changes to be displayed.
[Graphics]:
The Graphics page lets you set how graphics and advertising are displayed on the Jackpot Board. You can add and remove graphics files, change the sequence of graphics, and change the display time and fade-in/fade-out time for each graphic.
Uploading New Graphics:
To upload a new graphic image to the Jackpot Board, first press the Choose File button. This will display a file selection menu from your device (Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, etc.)
After you have selected the file, press the Upload button. The graphic will be stored on the Jackpot Board and will appear in the list. The graphic will be disabled when it is uploaded, until you use the Edit function to assign it to be used.
Editing the Image Properties:
Each graphic file is set to “Disabled” when it is uploaded. Click the Edit button to change this and its other settings.
Image Properties:
Site ID and File Name are just for reference and cannot be changed.
Image Use:
- Top Logo places the graphic at the top of the screen. Top Logo graphics should be 288 pixels high by 1080 pixels wide.
Only one graphic can be set to Top Logo status at a time.
- Bottom Ad places the graphic at the bottom of the screen. Multiple images may be selected as bottom ads. They will be displayed in order according to their Sequence number. Bottom ads should be in a standard HD format such as 1080P (1920 wide by 1080 high) or 720P (1280 wide by 720 high).
After the last graphic in the sequence is displayed, the Jackpot Board will start back with the first graphic.
- Disabled graphics will not be displayed, but are still stored on the Jackpot Board. You can set them to active at any time by changing their status to “Bottom Ad” or (rarely) “Top Logo”.
You can use this to upload special event ads in advance, and keeping them disabled until you are ready to have them displayed.
Display Time: This sets how long a graphic will appear on the Jackpot Board before being replaced with the next image in the sequence. The time is set in milliseconds (1/1000 of a second). For example, 5 seconds is entered as 5000, while ½ second is entered as 500.
Fade-In Time and Fade-Out Time: Images can be set to fade into each other when they change. This creates a pleasing visual effect. If you want graphics to switch instantly set the appropriate fade times to 0.
Deleting Graphics:
The Delete button by each image in the list will remove the graphic file. You should delete any images which you are not planning on using again. This will help save storage space on your Jackpot Board.
As always, remember to click on “[Publish to Sign]” when you are ready for the changes to be displayed.
